Chevron Delivers Record 4.1 Million boe/day Output in Q3 2025, Bolstered by Hess Acquisition
By Naija Enquirer Staff
Chevron Corporation has announced record oil and gas production for the third quarter of 2025, driven by the successful integration of Hess Corporation assets and strong performance across key upstream regions including the Permian Basin, Gulf of America, Kazakhstan, and Guyana.
Hess Deal Drives Production Surge
The company reported a 21 per cent year-on-year increase in global production to 4.1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), the highest output in its history. The acquisition of Hess contributed 495,000 boe/d, while legacy Chevron operations added 227,000 boe/d through new project ramp-ups and improved operational reliability.
Major Milestones in Guyana and Global Expansion
Chevron achieved first oil from the Yellowtail development, the fourth producing project in Guyana’s Stabroek Block, and sanctioned Hammerhead, the block’s seventh development — further strengthening its position in one of the world’s fastest-growing oil frontiers.
Beyond Guyana, Chevron expanded its global footprint by securing new exploration blocks in Peru’s Trujillo Basin and Guinea-Bissau, extending natural-gas export deals from Israel’s Leviathan field to Egypt, and securing a second long-term LNG supply agreement with ENN Global Trading in China.
Portfolio Optimisation and CEO Commentary
During the quarter, the company divested its interest in Block A-18 in the Malaysia-Thailand joint development area as part of its portfolio optimisation strategy. With the Hess integration well underway, Chevron Chairman and CEO Mike Wirth said the company is unlocking “significant synergies across our operations, further positioning Chevron as a premier global energy company.”
With record-breaking production, new project milestones, and expanded gas and LNG agreements, Chevron enters the final quarter of 2025 with strengthened momentum across its global energy portfolio.
