Dangote Refinery Applauds President Tinubu, Security Chiefs for Averting PENGASSAN Disruption

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has extended profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decisive intervention in halting what it described as “the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN” against the company. The firm commended the President’s leadership and the coordinated efforts of key government officials in restoring calm to Nigeria’s energy landscape at a critical moment.
Presidential Leadership Averts Energy Sector Crisis
In a statement, Dangote Refinery said: “We are grateful to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, HE Bola Tinubu, GCFR, for his intervention—through his Ministers and senior officials—which resulted in the abatement of the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN against the Refinery.”
The company highlighted the role of Nigeria’s Security Chiefs led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Adeola Toyin Ajayi; and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mr. Mohammed Mohammed, for working “tirelessly” to restore normalcy.
Ministers Praised for Patriotism and Commitment
Dangote Refinery also applauded the efforts of several senior government officials, including the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mohammed Dingyadi; the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu; and the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha. “These officials worked untiringly and determinedly into the wee hours of several nights to avert the declared disruption of Nigeria’s energy sector by anarchists and agents of darkness,” the company said.
Appreciation to Nigerians for Their Support
Expressing gratitude to the public, the refinery stated: “To Nigerians of all walks of life, we owe you more than a debt of gratitude. Your support for our righteous cause was humbling and overwhelming. We heard your supportive voices in every street corner and media channel, and were strengthened thereby.”
The statement reaffirmed Dangote’s commitment to serve national interests, protect local industry, and resist “rent seekers, economic saboteurs, and economic squatters.”
Refinery Commends Loyal Workforce
Dangote Refinery also praised its staff for maintaining uninterrupted operations during the industrial tension. “To our loyal workers who ensured that our operations were not disrupted even for a second, we thank and appreciate you. The strength of the Dangote Group lies in our people and their unalloyed dedication and allegiance to our cause,” it said.
The company emphasized that it remains a model employer, committed to fair labour practices, employee welfare, and continuous professional development. “Our compensation framework is benchmarked against international standards and designed to reward performance while upholding dignity in labour,” the statement added.
Judiciary Hailed as Bastion of Justice
In a notable acknowledgment, the refinery commended the Nigerian judiciary for standing firm in defense of the rule of law. “One institution that we revere and must loudly acknowledge is the Nigerian judiciary. They stood up for truth and proved themselves as the bastion of hope for all of us,” the statement read.
It condemned what it described as “the rascality and lawlessness” of individuals who refused to accept valid court orders, emphasizing that the judiciary’s courage reaffirmed its role as a just arbiter in times of crisis.
Commitment to National Growth Reaffirmed
Dangote Refinery concluded by reiterating its unwavering dedication to Nigeria’s industrial growth and economic stability. “Finally, to all our other stakeholders, big and small, we thank you and will continue to count on your support. We will not relent in serving the Nigerian nation faithfully and diligently through the uninterrupted production of petroleum products. Our commitment to the Nigerian people remains undiluted, undiminished, and unalterable,” the company affirmed.
