NCDMB Boosts Local Skills In Oil And Gas Fabrication

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has concluded a three-week capacity-building programme on Structural Steel Fabrication for Oil and Gas Projects in Port Harcourt, equipping participants with critical hands-on skills for the nation’s energy sector.
The training, which attracted participants from diverse technical backgrounds, focused on strengthening competencies in structural steel fabrication — a core requirement in oil and gas infrastructure development. Beneficiaries are expected to leverage the skills to improve their employability and participation in upcoming industry projects.
According to the Director of Kinetium, Ulari Nwaogazie, the collaboration with NCDMB underscores the importance of sustainable skill development in driving industrial growth. She expressed appreciation to the board for facilitating opportunities that expand local capacity.
Representing NCDMB, Engr. Prince Zubai urged participants to apply their newly acquired skills effectively, stressing that the programme aligns with the board’s mandate to ensure Nigerians play active, meaningful roles in the oil and gas value chain.
The initiative is part of NCDMB’s wider plan to train over 10,000 youths in high-demand technical areas, as earlier announced by the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe. The board said the programmes are designed to bridge existing skill gaps and prepare Nigerian youths for emerging opportunities in the sector.
The latest training reinforces NCDMB’s commitment to partnerships that accelerate local content development, industry growth, and national economic advancement.
