NNPC Limited Names Andy Odeh, Morenike Adewunmi as New Communications and Relations Chiefs

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has announced the appointment of two seasoned professionals, Mr. Andy Odeh and Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, into key leadership positions to strengthen its corporate image and stakeholder engagement.
Mr. Odeh will serve as Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Mrs. Adewunmi takes on the role of Chief Relations Officer.
With more than three decades of experience in communications, advertising, broadcasting, and oil and gas, Mr. Odeh is bringing a wealth of expertise to his new role. He spent 26 years at Nigeria LNG (NLNG), where he held strategic leadership positions across Community Relations, Business Logistics, IT, Corporate Communications, Government Relations, and Sustainable Development. As General Manager of External Relations, he oversaw NLNG’s rebranding, established a micro-credit scheme for host communities, and pioneered the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting.
Odeh is an alumnus of the University of Jos, University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS). He is widely recognized for spearheading impactful public relations campaigns for top Nigerian brands.
Mrs. Adewunmi, a seasoned legal and stakeholder management expert, brings over 25 years of experience from the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN). She has built a strong reputation for navigating complex regulatory environments and protecting companies’ licenses to operate. At Shell, she served as Regulatory Affairs Manager and Government Relations Manager, maintaining strategic relationships with the Presidency, MDAs, and regulatory institutions.
A graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Nigerian Law School, Adewunmi is respected for her leadership, emotional intelligence, and subject matter expertise in non-technical risks and advocacy.
The appointment of Mr. Odeh and Mrs. Adewunmi reflects NNPC Limited’s commitment to strengthening communication channels, building robust stakeholder networks, and enhancing transparency in the oil and gas sector.
