Petroleum Ministers, NNPCL, Regulators to Headline 2025 NAEC Energy Conference

The Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria (NAEC) has confirmed an impressive lineup of speakers for its 2025 National Energy Conference scheduled for Thursday, October 9, 2025, in Lagos.
Key speakers include the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo; and Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power. They will be joined by Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC); Engr. Farouk Ahmed, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA); and Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group CEO of NNPC Limited.
Themed “Nigeria’s Energy Future: Exploring Opportunities and Addressing Risks for Sustainable Growth,” the 2025 NAEC Energy Conference will assemble policymakers, regulators, operators, and stakeholders across the oil, gas, and power sectors for robust policy dialogue and industry networking.
According to a joint statement by Mr. Ugo Amadi, NAEC Chairman, and Dr. Adeola Yusuf, Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, participants will deliver keynote addresses and goodwill messages to set the tone for discussions. The conference will be chaired by Dr. Uche Ogah, President of Masters Energy Group.
The programme includes three panel sessions:
- Upstream Sector: “Actualising Nigeria’s Energy Future: Optimizing Opportunities and Investments for Oil and Gas Production Growth.”
- Midstream & Downstream: “Driving Sustainable Energy Future through Investment in Infrastructure.”
- Power & Renewables: “Unlocking Power Sector Potential: Infrastructure, Investment, and Innovation for a Sustainable Future.”
For the first time, the conference will feature the NAEC Industry Awards, with five merit categories. Organisers pledged transparency and inclusiveness, noting that nominations and voting will be open to industry players via the NAEC website.
Other confirmed speakers include Engr. Felix Ogbe (NCDMB), Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji (NEITI), Engr. Ed Ubong (Decade of Gas), Engr. Tony Attah (Renaissance), Suresh Kumar (NIPCO), Dr. Alex Irune (Oando Energy Resources), Folake Soetan (Ikeja Electric), Mrs. Moroti Adedoyin-Adeyinka (Sahara Group), Dr. Phillip Mshelbila (NLNG), among others.
Registration for the 2025 NAEC Energy Conference is now open on the NAEC official website. A pre-conference workshop for NAEC members, sponsored by a leading Nigerian energy company, will also be held later this month.
