Renaissance Africa Energy Limited has unveiled its Southern Swamp Associated Gas Solutions (SSAGS) Project in Delta State, marking a major step toward eliminating routine gas flaring and accelerating industrial growth within the Tunu Node operations.

According to a statement by Renaissance Spokesperson, Michael Adande, the project injects approximately 100 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMscf/d) into the domestic market and establishes long-term infrastructure to unlock nearly 820 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe) in discovered and undiscovered reserves.

The SSAGS project spans oil mining leases 35 and 46, located in the swamp terrain south of Warri, and is designed as a strategic anchor for future developments across the node.

Adande explained that the volume of gas supplied could power about 6,700 Nigerian households for one year if used exclusively for electricity generation. He added that the initiative is expected to stimulate economic growth, supporting thousands of jobs across the gas value chain.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance, Mr. Tony Attah, described the launch as a significant milestone in the company’s drive toward sustainable energy delivery. “This marks a substantial achievement in our commitment to advancing associated gas utilisation, ensuring energy security, and driving industrialisation across Nigeria,” he said.

Renaissance’s Chief Production Officer, Mr. Mesh Maichibi, highlighted the environmental benefits of the SSAGS project, noting that it would channel production into four flow stations—Tunu, Ogbotobo, Benisede, and Opukushi—and evacuate crude via the Trans Ramos Pipeline to the Forcados Export Terminal.

He said the project represents a major success in Nigeria’s broader agenda to eliminate gas flaring across the oil and gas sector.
