The Social Integrity Network (SINET), a non-governmental organisation focused on equity, social justice, and national development, has commended the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, for her transformative initiatives that align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

SINET described the minister as a hardworking and dedicated public servant whose leadership has fostered peace, unity, growth, and inclusiveness among Nigerian women since her appointment in October 2024.

Recognising Strategic Achievements

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, SINET’s National Coordinator, Dalhatu Issah, praised the Minister’s achievements, noting that her intelligence and experience have advanced women’s development and strengthened Nigeria’s international profile.

He highlighted several milestones under her leadership, including:

  • Hosting a high-level consultative meeting with former Ministers of Women Affairs to consolidate institutional wisdom and strategic direction.
  • Leading Nigeria’s delegation to the 69th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in March 2025, reaffirming Nigeria’s leadership role globally.
  • Convening the Maiden Town Hall and Citizens’ Engagement on May 29, 2025, which brought together nearly 1,000 women nationwide in support of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
  • Marking her first 100 days in office with palliative distribution and provision of solar systems to women’s groups to cushion economic hardship and boost energy access.

Driving Women Empowerment and Livelihood Support

Issah noted that the Ministry has made significant progress in empowering women economically, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Initiatives include:

  • Reaching over 30,000 women across 18 states and the FCT with palliatives and livelihood support under the Renewed Hope Food Intervention.
  • Establishing a Rice Processing Centre in Niger State under the Nigeria for Women Project, benefiting over 1,500 women in agro-enterprise.
  • Collaborating with the DSS to train widows of fallen personnel in vocational and agro-processing skills.
  • Partnering with Wema Bank Plc under the MOWA–SARA Programme to empower over 500 women with skills in tailoring, catering, and hairdressing.
  • Supporting the Super Falcons, contributing to their recent victory at the 13th African Women Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Vote of Confidence

On behalf of the organisation, Issah expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing a minister with a “human face and genuine national interest,” affirming that SINET has passed a vote of confidence on Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim for her excellent performance.

“We appeal to stakeholders in the Nigerian project to be forward-looking and join Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim in consolidating and sustaining the good work she is discharging to the nation,”
