Youths Urged to Register on NOGICJQS for Oil Industry Opportunities

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has called on Nigerian youths to register on the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System (NOGICJQS) to access training and employment opportunities in the petroleum sector.
The Board noted that NOGICJQS is the central database for indigenous manpower and service providers in the oil and gas industry, emphasizing that only registered candidates can be considered for skills development programmes and industry jobs.
Speaking at a strategic engagement with media practitioners and youth stakeholders in Port Harcourt, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe—represented by the Director of Corporate Services, Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu—outlined milestones in Nigerian Content implementation and urged youths to leverage the portal.
“Our message to Nigerian youths is clear: if you want to participate in oil and gas, you must be visible on NOGICJQS. This is where operators and service companies first look when they need skilled manpower,” Ogbe said.
He explained that the platform enables NCDMB to track compliance with local content requirements and ensures transparency in recruitment processes.
According to him, the database has already facilitated thousands of placements in training and field assignments, and the Board will intensify awareness campaigns across universities and technical institutions to broaden participation.
“We are determined to reduce unemployment by linking Nigerian youths directly to opportunities. The oil industry is highly technical, and without registration, one cannot access the benefits of local content initiatives,” he added.
