President Bola Tinubu has highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects across the country as part of achievements recorded by his administration over the past three years.
The President said major road and rail projects are currently advancing across several regions, with thousands of kilometres under construction, rehabilitation or reconstruction.
Tinubu disclosed this while addressing Nigerians in a statement marking his third anniversary in office.
According to him, the administration is currently handling one of the largest infrastructure expansion programmes undertaken in recent years.
Major Highway Projects Under Construction
Among the projects listed by the President is the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, one of the administration’s flagship infrastructure projects.
Tinubu also mentioned the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road and sections of the East-West Road.
He stated that significant progress has already been recorded on several portions of the projects.
According to the President, the roads are expected to improve transportation, reduce travel time and strengthen economic activities across the country.
He added that the projects are also creating employment opportunities for thousands of Nigerians.
Government Expands Rail Modernisation
Tinubu further disclosed that rail modernization projects are ongoing in different parts of the federation.
He explained that the rail projects are aimed at improving connectivity, easing logistics challenges and supporting economic integration.
The administration said improved transportation infrastructure would help businesses move goods more efficiently while reducing the cost of transportation.
The President maintained that infrastructure development remains one of the government’s major priorities for long-term economic growth.
Tinubu Links Infrastructure to Economic Growth
According to Tinubu, ongoing infrastructure investments are expected to boost trade, attract investment and improve productivity across various sectors.
He stated that the government remains focused on delivering projects capable of supporting industrial growth and regional development.
The President also noted that road construction projects are helping improve access to rural communities and commercial centres.
