NSCDC Thwarts Kidnapping and Cattle Rustling in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, successfully intercepted an attempted kidnapping and cattle rustling in Bakin Komau, Dangora area of Kiru Local Government Area. The operation prevented a potentially deadly outcome for the local community.

Attack on Shepherd and Children

According to SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, the command’s Public Relations Officer, the incident took place on Thursday when armed assailants attacked a shepherd, leaving him seriously injured while abducting his two children and attempting to steal livestock.

Engaging the Criminals

NSCDC personnel stationed near Dansoshiya Forest quickly mobilized to the scene. A confrontation ensued, during which the suspects were forced to abandon the kidnapped children and flee into the forest, sustaining injuries in the process. The rapid response effectively neutralized the threat.

Victims Reunited and Treated

The two children, Abubakar Saleh (36) and Muhammad Inuwa Dille (30), were rescued and safely returned to their family. The injured shepherd, 70-year-old Alhaji Saleh, received immediate medical attention for his wounds.

Ongoing Security Measures

The NSCDC had been deployed in the area to provide protection for the ongoing dam construction project and to safeguard grazing reserves and farming communities from criminal activity. Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama reaffirmed the corps’ dedication to protecting lives, property, and national assets.

Call for Public Cooperation

The command urged residents to continue providing credible information to enhance the effectiveness of security operations, emphasizing that community support is critical in preventing and responding to criminal incidents.
